About the Author: Dena Tyson
I first recognized my gift the day I entered a writing contest that was sponsored by the
4-H Club at A.B. Hill Elementary School in Memphis Tennessee. I entered the
contest and won. I was a little girl back then with a very strong and vivid
imagination. Unfortunately for me, I had no one to help nurture, encourage or
channel the gift for which I had been blessed on the home front.
I’m all grown up now…, and writing to me was much like re-visiting an old friend
that held a special place in my heart. Even though we didn’t speak much, we never
lost touch. In 1992 I picked up my mechanical pencil and yellow notebook paper and
attempted my journey once more.
As life would have it things happened, some good and some bad and I just took each
event as some kind of lesson God wanted me to learn and grew from that. But through
it all I never stopped writing. I knew that I had been blessed with a very special gift to
unintentionally make people laugh or smile or cry. My stories come from deep within
me and my release is through the force of my mechanical pencil, and I have never given
up. I hope to inspire as I continue my journey, as I was inspired that day in the
4-H Club.
I have released myself from Corporate America and am pursuing my gift of writing.
What I crave... I love to write drama, and suspense stories that capture you from the
very first page and lock you in to a journey you won't soon forget, but will find yourself
laughing at the memories you recall. Are you ready...?
Currently I live in Illinois with my husband and family.
I'm stronger, wiser and better...
